Ensure
Assignment: For this project we, were asked by an agency working on Ensure to come up with digital campaign to reach baby boomers.
Research: Like with all of our projects we did internet research on google and combed the research databases. We also did in-person observations at a local watering hole where boomer’s usually frequent. Along with the observations we also did interviews with experts from cell phone retailers to better understand the mobile habits of boomers and what was driving them.
Insight
Boomers view Ensure the same way they view medication, so if they aren’t sick then they aren’t buying it.
Solution: Keep You at Your Best
Our solution was to highlight the role Ensure could play in keep boomers healthy and active as they age. In our plan we recommended partnering with Fitbit to create a sponsored fitness challenge where boomers could compete with their children and grandchildren via Facebook. We also recommended that Ensure partner with Ihop to celebrate grandparents day with a special menu with healthy meal choices. To show how this could actually work we went to a popular nearby waffle spot called Funk n Waffles and had them make waffles with Ensure in them.
In Retrospect: This was a really fun project and we ended up getting the highest grade in the class. My favorite part was actually getting the waffles made with Ensure and presenting them to the judges.
